Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Tampa-based phlebotomist with pediatric experience or 1+ year of high-volume active draws. This role requires calm demeanor and precise specimen collection in a fast-paced environment.

As a Lab Medical Assistant II, you will collect, receive and process specimens, coordinate with nursing and physicians, and refer tests to outside labs while maintaining professional patient interactions.

Qualifications

• Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field
• Required High School or equivalent
• Or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Seeking a Tampa-based phlebotomist with pediatric experience or 1+ year of high-volume active draws (10+ sticks/day), confident with difficult veins and infant collections, and able to maintain a calm, steady demeanor.

Responsibilities

The Lab Medical Assistant II is responsible for:
