Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Currently working as a Lab Client Support Technician Senior or higher in an applicable department.
• Two years of Laboratory Support Technician experience preferred.
• Proficient with ARUP software programs (Millennium, ESP, ANSR, IMS, EExcept).
• Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM availability.
• Ability to work in a biohazard laboratory environment with PPE per CDC/OSHA.
• Sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 pounds; good mobility and vision.
• Absolute integrity in sample identification, test performance, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex issues with internal and external clients and departments.
• Manage client concerns and elevate issues as appropriate.
• Monitor and reassign workforce based on workload.
• Assist with training new employees on all department functions.
• Answer employee questions regarding processes, policies, and procedures.
• Assist in developing employees within the Laboratory Support Technician career ladder.
• Issue credits as appropriate.
• Maintain knowledge of specimen acceptance/rejection policies.
• Serve as liaison between clients/departments and other ARUP areas.
• Perform Laboratory Support Technician duties as workload and staffing require.
• Assist with developing training plans, training modules, and procedure revisions.
• Communicate with other departments as requested.
• Perform quality reviews, including reviewing error logs, issuing EITs, and correcting EXCEPT tests.
• Provide education and retraining to department staff.
• Monitor equipment and initiate corrective action.
• Assist with quality assurance monitoring and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
