St. Mary's Medical Center is seeking a full-time Laboratory Billing Coordinator to oversee charge capture, coding reviews, and reconciliation within the Laboratory Department.

Under supervision of the Laboratory Manager, this role coordinates with Billing and Health Information Management to ensure accurate documentation and timely billing. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, current MLT license in WV, ASCP certification, and 2–5 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Currently licensed as a Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services (WVDHHR).
• Has successfully completed a certification exam from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent licensing board.
• Completion of certification is required within 6 months of employment, if not previously obtained.
• Both State and National certifications must remain current and up to date where applicable

Responsabilités

• Plan, coordinate and implement compliance reviews of documentation and charge capture/charge reconciliation in the Laboratory Department.
• Review bulletins and monitor publications for coding and billing updates; provide summaries, analyses, and reports.
• Provide ongoing education to clerical staff and act as liaison between Laboratory, Billing Office, and Health Information Management.
• Perform routine clerical functions, data entry of physician orders, screen calls for test information, and retrieve patient results and messages.
• Support the Laboratory computer system to ensure efficient workflow.
