Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Computer Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane in Indiana. The role focuses on electrical test automation and development for the strategic microelectronics lab, including data collection, analysis, and tool development.

The position expects a BS in a related field with strong Python and LabVIEW skills, Linux proficiency, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Entry to mid-level candidates encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Strong programming proficiency in Python and LabVIEW.
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
• Proficiency with Git or similar version control tools.
• Experience with Visual Basic, Visual C++, or JavaScript.
• Understanding of hardware/software integration for test equipment.
• Lab experience with microelectronics components and test equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• US citizenship with ability to obtain an active Secret clearance (interim clearance to start).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using Python, LabVIEW, Visual Basic, Visual C++, and JavaScript.
• Create and manage automated scripts to control electronic test equipment for validation and characterization.
• Implement automated data collection processes ensuring data integrity and accessibility from test stations.
• Develop tools for data review, post-processing, and analysis.
• Assist test engineers with hands-on component testing, data collection, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with engineers to define software requirements and improve testing methodologies.
• Support design reviews and provide status updates on development plans.
