Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Lab Assistant II in Troy, MI, working Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, with rotational weekend shifts. The role supports laboratory professionals by performing routine lab tasks, specimen handling, and data entry into LIS.

The position requires 1 year of lab experience and strong attention to detail. Candidates should be proficient with Microsoft Office and LIS, and able to maintain safe work practices while assisting with instrument maintenance

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience in a technical or clinical laboratory department.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and LIS.
• Ability to follow steps accurately and maintain attention to detail.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform specimen receiving, labeling, handling and preparation.
• Assist with pre-analytical preparation of specimens and loading automated instruments.
• Record digital temperature and notify licensed personnel if out of range.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance on some equipment.
• Prepare chemicals, reagents and solutions for the lab.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and equipment.
• Enter data in LIS and assist with QA/QC duties.
