Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Troy, MI seeks a Lab Assistant II to support routine lab functions during the 2:00 PM–10:30 PM shift, with weekend rotation. The role includes specimen handling, data entry, and instrument maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of lab experience, a high school diploma or GED, and be comfortable with shift differentials up to 15%. Part-time and full-time benefits apply; adherence to safety and privacy policies is required.

Must demonstrate the ability to follow a series of steps without confusion or errors on an on-going basis.
Must be detail-oriented, able to work independently, set priorities and multitask for efficiency.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with supervisors, co-workers, and clients.
Ability to handle client information confidentially.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Laboratory Information Systems.

Mansioni

Perform specimen receiving, labeling, handling and preparation.
Assist with pre-analytical preparation of specimens (e.g., printing labels, uncap/cap tubes, aliquot specimens).
Record digital temperature and notify licensed personnel if out of range.
Perform routine instrument maintenance on select equipment.
Assist in preparation of chemicals, reagents, and solutions.
Keep work area and equipment organized and clean.
Enter data in LIS and assist with QA/QC duties.
