Job summary

Piedmont Walton Hospital is seeking a phlebotomist to perform specimen collection and processing procedures in accordance with CMS and CLIA guidelines. The role includes drawing blood, preparing samples, and assisting the technical team in non-clinical tasks.

No prior experience is required, but preferred candidates have phlebotomy experience or EKG skills. A GED is required, and certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
