Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a phlebotomist to join our clinical team. The role involves processing samples, performing venipunctures, and assisting with non-clinical tasks while complying with CMS CLIA '88 and OSHA standards.

Excellent attention to detail and comfort in a healthcare setting are essential. No experience required, though 1 year in a healthcare or lab setting and CPT phlebotomy certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; 1 year preferred.
• Phlebotomy knowledge and EKG experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and applicable standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens per Piedmont policies and procedures.

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred
