Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is hiring for a Phlebotomy Technician. The role includes performing venipuncture and preparing blood specimens in accordance with CMS/CLIA and Piedmont procedures. The position supports technical staff with non-clinical tasks and contributes to accurate patient testing.

Education required is a high school diploma or GED; no experience is required, though 1 year in phlebotomy or EKG and CPT certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP/ASPT/NCA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities:

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required


• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred


• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred


• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred
