Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is hiring a Phlebotomist to perform sample processing and venipuncture in a clinical lab setting. The role requires a GED and offers opportunities to work with a healthcare team dedicated to accurate specimen handling and patient care.

No experience is required, but one year as a phlebotomist and familiarity with EKGs are preferred. Certification in phlebotomy is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• No prior experience required; 1 year experience in phlebotomy preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Certification in phlebotomy (CPT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS/CLIA and other standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens according to Piedmont policies.
• Assists technical staff with non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities:

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred


• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
