Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our team. You will perform sample processing, exempt screening and monitoring tests in line with CMS/CLIA, OSHA, and Georgia regulations, and you will execute venipunctures and prepare blood specimens following Piedmont policies.

Minimum education is a High School diploma or GED; no prior experience is required. Phlebotomy certification and EKG experience are preferred, with a background in healthcare or clinical laboratories

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy preferred.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes preferred.
• Experience in performing EKGs preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
