Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to join our hospital-based team and support timely patient specimen collection and processing.

You will perform venipunctures, prepare specimens, and coordinate with technologists to ensure accurate lab results, while adhering to CLIA, CMS, and Piedmont policies.

Minimum education is high school diploma; no prior experience required, but ASCP/ASPT/NCA certification preferred; knowledge of EKGs is a plus.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy preferred.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes preferred.
• Experience in performing EKGs preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS/CLIA/OSHA standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens per Piedmont policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA ?88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Additional Qualifications
