Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is looking for a Phlebotomy Specialist to join our clinical team. You will perform venipunctures, collect and prep blood specimens, and support non-clinical tasks to keep the lab running smoothly.

The role prefers a phlebotomy certification and basic knowledge of venipuncture, with experience in clinical laboratory settings and EKGs considered a plus. A high school diploma or GED is required; no prior experience is necessary.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA ?88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School graduate or GED

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency is preferred.
Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy is preferred.
Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes is preferred.
Experience in performing EKGs is preferred.
Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
