Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a phlebotomy-focused professional to perform sample collection, lab processing, and basic EKGs in a hospital setting.

The role supports clinical laboratory operations, with emphasis on venipuncture, specimen preparation, and collaboration with technical staff to maintain workflow and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• No licensure/certification required by law.
• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy is preferred.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes is preferred.
• Experience in performing EKGs is preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable.
• Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
