Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a phlebotomy technician to support lab operations and patient testing in Georgia.

Responsibilities include sample collection, processing, venipuncture, and assisting technical staff while adhering to CMS CLIA and Piedmont policies.

Preferred candidates hold phlebotomy certification and have basic knowledge of venipuncture; healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA) and OSHA standards and applicable Georgia regulations.
• Performs venipunctures and obtains/prepares blood specimens according to Piedmont policies.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA ?88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School graduate or GED

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency is preferred.
Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy is preferred.
Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes is preferred.
Experience in performing EKGs is preferred.
Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
