Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a phlebotomist to join our clinical team. You will perform sample processing, venipunctures, and prepare blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and regulatory standards, while supporting non-clinical tasks as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, with preferred phlebotomy certification and knowledge of lab processes; EKG experience and healthcare setting exposure are a plus and promote exceptional patient care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency preferred.
• Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy preferred.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes preferred.
• Experience in performing EKGs preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS CLIA and Piedmont policies.
• Performs venipunctures and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA ?88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
