Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient EPIC registration from documentation.
• Work across computer applications including insurance verification.
• Place laboratory orders and document specimens and orders.
• Ensure specimen acceptability and correct patient registration.
• Process biological lab specimens according to procedures and regulations.
• Prioritize work and expedite urgent specimens for testing.
• Distribute lab specimens to appropriate locations and prioritize accordingly.
• Operate automated specimen processing equipment and meet turnaround times.
• Troubleshoot clerical and specimen issues and resolve them.
• Facilitate lab result distribution via phone, fax, or mail.
• Provide customer service to internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with other lab and clinical areas to provide support.
• Engage in quality measures and comply with regulatory standards.
• Manage departmental supplies and assist with training new staff.
