• Work between multiple computer applications simultaneously including insurance verification.
• Place laboratory orders and document all aspects of specimens and orders.
• Ensure specimen acceptability including patient identification and labeling.
• Process biological lab specimens according to procedures and regulations.
• Prioritize and organize work according to departmental processes, including urgent and emergent cases.
• Operate automated specimen processing equipment.
• Meet turnaround time standards for laboratory results.
• Troubleshoot clerical and specimen issues to resolution.
• Distribute lab results via phone, fax, and mail.
