Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking personnel to manage the accurate and timely logistics of laboratory specimens for inpatients and outpatients. Responsibilities include patient EPIC registration, insurance verification, and order entry, ensuring specimen labeling and proper distribution of reports.

The role requires working on second shift with 20 hours per week plus training on full-time hours, and entails handling urgent and emergent specimens while maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent GED.
• Ability to work across multiple computer applications.
• Six 6 months employment in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to attend to multiple tasks and maintain accuracy under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient EPIC registration from documentation.
• Manage insurance verification and lab order entry; document specimen details.
• Process and label laboratory specimens with correct identification.
• Distribute patient reports and assist with patient questions.
• Meet turnaround times for laboratory standards and provide excellent customer service.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with lab and clinical areas; support with report distribution and supplies.
