Job summary

SMS InfoComm Corporation in Grapevine, TX is seeking a Server Repair Tech to test, troubleshoot, and replace parts on servers sent for diagnosis and repair. The role focuses on ensuring server reliability and performance in a warehouse/maintenance setting.

You will inspect servers, replace components, run stress tests, document results, and collaborate with repair teams. Candidates should have a high school diploma and relevant server experience, with Linux knowledge and strong problem-solving

Qualifications

• Education – High school diploma or equivalent technical experience, certifications in Server support and architecture desired
• Experience – troubleshooting and diagnosing servers, experience with computer tools such as email, spreadsheets, and call tracking or shop repair tools
• Experience with replacing parts on servers
• Experience with server configuration
• Good written and verbal skills – needs to documents errors and repairs
• Industry/Environment: Prefer to have worked in a PC or server type of environment
• Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and diagnose servers
• Replace parts as needed
• Conduct and analyze server stress tests
• Document all symptoms, test results, and parts replaced in shop floor tool
• Collaborate with motherboard repair, motherboard testing, QC, whole unit repair, and inspections personnel
• Provide back up for QC, inspection, whole unit repair, and motherboard testing
• Maintain parts consumption
• Other duties as assigned by leadership
• Maintain and nurture positive work environment
• Work and collaborate with other teams such as warehouse, shipping, receiving, etc.
• Follow process for system and parts management
