Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel) – Night Shift | Seattle, WA

Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location: Seattle, WA 98122 (Pacific Northwest healthcare hub)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: September 8, 2025
End Date: December 8, 2025
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30), 36 hours/week
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1810 - $1940
Setting: High-acuity, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit (31 beds, 4 ORs, 500-600 deliveries/month)
Employment Type: On-site travel nursing position

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 4 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital (5 years preferred)
Travel Nursing Experience: Prior travel RN experience required (first-time travelers not eligible)
Licensure: Active Washington RN license or Compact RN license
Required Certifications: BLS, NRP
Preferred Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
References: Two current supervisory references (covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years)
Charting: Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR)
Documentation: Must provide proof of certifications and licensure upon submission

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including high-risk and high-volume cases
Circulate for C-sections and assist with vaginal deliveries (circulating experience required)
Serve as Baby Nurse during deliveries, providing newborn care (eyes, thighs, assessment, Vitamin K injections)
Administer medications such as Heparin, Insulin, Magnesium Sulfate, and others as indicated
Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, and support breastfeeding/lactation
Float to Postpartum/Antepartum units and sister facilities for Mother/Baby care as needed
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including OBs, midwives, pharmacy, respiratory, and social services
Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR and adhere to AWHONN staffing guidelines
Work every other weekend and holidays as required
