Job summary

The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Memphis is seeking a dedicated Associate focused on member acquisition and experience in Membership, Recreation and Fitness. You will help create a welcoming, helpful and safe environment where individuals and families can learn, grow and thrive.

The role requires engaging with guests, managing inquiries, and supporting fitness and recreational activities in a dynamic community center. Training in CCMS/RMS is used to process transactions as needed.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in customer relations and leading fitness/recreational activities preferred.

• Answer incoming calls and address needs professionally and kindly.

The Kroc Associate is focused on member acquisition and experience in the areas Membership, Recreation and Fitness. These staff members are responsible for participating in the creation of a welcoming, helpful and safe environment where individuals and families can learn, grow and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Warmly greets all people that we come in contact with throughout the Kroc Center
• Answers incoming phone calls and addresses needs in a professional and kind manner
• Uphold Kroc Center policies to maintain a safe and family friendly environment
• Operates CCMS/RMS computer software for customer transactions in accordance to Salvation Army and member policies

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
• Ability to demonstrate good physical condition and effort associated with walking, running, standing, and moderate-to-advanced weightlifting in a fitness center environment including the ability to meet the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs.
• Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent changes basis.

What We Are Looking For In You: Education and Experience

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or G.E.D.

• Experience in customer relations and leading fitness and recreational activities preferred.

• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications

• Safe From Harm Certification
• Blood Borne Pathogens Certification
• Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aide/AED certification within first 30 days of employment.
