Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines in Eugene, OR seeks a Dock Supervisor to lead dock employees, set targets, monitor performance and coach staff within a growth-oriented, safety-conscious LTL operation. You will manage schedules, plan dock activity and ensure timely, accurate paperwork and customer communications.

The ideal candidate has prior management and dock experience in LTL trucking, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work 50 hours per week including nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have prior management, dispatch and dock experience in LTL trucking.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Must be knowledgeable of local metropolitan area.
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, mentor and terminate employees.
• Team building and interpersonal skills.
• Possess excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.
• Excellent planning and organization skills.
• Must be able to lift and handle up to 20 lbs.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead, guide and direct dock employees; set targets, monitor performance, coaching and development.
• Manage an efficient, clean and safe LTL operation including dock planning and schedules.
• Enforce company policies, safety rules and regulations.
• Involved in hiring and termination processes.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan as set by the Service Center Manager.
• Meet KPIs and utilize enhancement tools and processes.
• Review and revise schedules to increase efficiencies and lower cost.
• Coordinate equipment movement (trailers and tractors) with other supervisors/management.
• Communicate with customers via phone, fax or email.
• Oversee dock paperwork and ensure timely handling by employees.
• Regular attendance is required.
