Job summary

Lanter Delivery Systems in Portland, OR is seeking a full-time Dock Supervisor to lead a team of Dock Associates during the 12:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. shift and ensure freight is loaded and unloaded safely and on time.

You will coach and develop staff, enforce safety standards, partner with internal teams and customers, and drive continuous improvement in dock operations. Weekend work may be required and up to 15% travel may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Dock Associates, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements.
• Coach, train, and develop team members, addressing performance concerns and documenting interactions as needed.
• Support hiring and onboarding efforts to maintain a productive and engaged team.
• Manage daily dock operations to ensure freight is loaded, unloaded, staged, and handled safely and efficiently.
• Partner with customers and internal teams to resolve issues and support on-time, error-free service.
• Monitor safety, security, and compliance, addressing unsafe practices and conducting routine inspections.
• Assist with loading and unloading freight as operational needs require.
• Resolve team member and customer concerns, escalating significant issues to the Operations Manager as appropriate.
• Complete required operational reporting and support continuous improvement efforts.
• Protect company assets and confidential information in accordance with company policies and procedures.
