Job summary

Estes Express Lines is seeking a Dock Supervisor to lead dock personnel, oversee scheduling, and ensure efficient LTL operations. You will coach staff, drive KPI achievement, and ensure safety and policy compliance across the service center.

Ideal candidates have prior management/dock experience in LTL, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to work extended hours including nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Understanding of the LTL trucking industry and basic paperwork flow.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience in LTL trucking.
• Knowledge of local metropolitan area.
• Strong leadership, hiring, coaching, training and terminations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; planning and organization.
• Proficient computer skills (AS/400, MS Office).
• Willing to work 50 hours/week on various shifts; ability to lift ~20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock employees; set targets, monitor performance and coach.
• Ensure safety, policy compliance and adherence to procedures.
• Support hiring/termination processes and staff development.
• Administer portions of the Service Center Business plan.
• Meet KPI targets and manage scheduling to optimize efficiency.
• Coordinate equipment movement with supervisors; manage dock operations.
• Maintain timely customer communications via phone, fax or email.
• Oversee dock paperwork and ensure proper handling and documentation.
• Attend work reliably and perform other duties as assigned.
