Job summary

Accenture is hiring a Knowledge Modeler / Ontologist in the United States (Austin area) to design and govern enterprise ontology models for knowledge graphs. You will collaborate with data engineering, AI/ML, and business SMEs to translate domain concepts into semantic representations and align with upper ontologies.

The role involves full ontology lifecycle, from requirements and conceptual modeling to validation, deployment, and governance, with hybrid work and frequent client site travel

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in ontology engineering, knowledge modeling, or a closely related semantic web discipline.
• Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience delivering domain ontologies in an enterprise or consulting context.
• Bachelor’s in Information Science, Computer Science, Library Science, Linguistics, Philosophy, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Lead ontology lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Design and evolve ontologies, taxonomies, and vocabularies using OWL, RDF, RDFS, SKOS.
• Collaborate with data engineering, AI/ML, and business SMEs to align models with business goals.
• Coach stakeholders in developing competency questions to guide ontology scope.
• Ensure alignment with upper ontologies (e.g., BFO) and governance standards
