Job summary

The State of Maryland is seeking a Knowledge Management Specialist to support the FAMLI program by designing and implementing KM strategies and best practices across operations and programs.

You will assist with record retention policies, document review schedules, and storage requirements while ensuring security and accessibility of information for authorized users. This role emphasizes collaboration and continuous learning within the Policy Team.

Qualifications

• Experience drafting technical or administrative documents (SOPs, manuals, knowledge base articles).
• Gathers verbal requirements from multi-department stakeholders and incorporates feedback into KM artifacts.
• Tracks and supports concurrent KM projects from inception to completion within tight timelines.
• Experience standing up or rolling out new government or organizational programs, including timelines and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Identify and maintain a knowledge management framework providing end-user access to organizational knowledge.
• Work within document management systems; assist with new systems and tools when gaps arise.
• Organize data; establish file structures; ensure information is stored and accessible to authorized users.
• Assist with reporting on performance metrics and alignment with KPIs for KM initiatives.
