Pearson is seeking a Lead Specialist, AI Data & Knowledge Architect to design and build the knowledge foundation for its next generation of intelligent K–12 assessment and learning systems. This founding, hands-on role sits at the intersection of content development, learning science, technology, AI science, and psychometrics.

This role will shape a scalable knowledge graph, define schemas and APIs, and collaborate with software engineers to embed knowledge into the assessment authoring system.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in CS/AI/Knowledge Engineering.
• Experience designing knowledge graphs in production or applied settings.
• Hands-on knowledge modeling with ontologies, vocabularies, and taxonomies.
• Strong data architecture and integration pipeline experience.

Responsabilités

• Design and build the knowledge graph and knowledge model for assessment domains.
• Represent standards, competencies, skills, claims, evidence, and content as computational structures.
• Design for extensibility across domains and future AI capabilities.
• Establish identity, versioning, provenance, and lifecycle for knowledge objects.
• Separate authoritative knowledge from derived information and hypotheses.
• Evaluate graph and semantic technologies for extensibility and interoperability.
• Build pipelines and mappings connecting item banks, metadata, psychometric data into knowledge layer.
• Develop schemas, APIs, and data contracts for access by apps and workflows.
• Partner with software engineers to integrate the knowledge layer into our authoring system.
