Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking an experienced Kitting Supervisor in California to lead daily kitting, inventory control, and material fulfillment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will ensure accurate materials, revisions, and documentation to support production schedules and prevent downtime.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in warehouse operations, strong ERP/MRP/WMS knowledge, and the ability to coach and develop staff while improving SOPs and inventory controls.

Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Kitting Supervisor to lead daily kitting, inventory, and material fulfillment operations in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment.

This position is responsible for ensuring that production teams receive the correct materials, quantities, revisions, and documentation on time to support production schedules and prevent downtime.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, materials management, kitting, and manufacturing, along with strong knowledge of ERP/MRP/WMS systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise daily kitting and material fulfillment activities.
  • Assign and prioritize work based on production schedules and operational requirements.
  • Oversee picking, verification, assembly, and staging of production kits.
  • Ensure materials, quantities, revisions, and documentation are accurate before delivery to Production.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and investigate shortages, discrepancies, damaged materials, and transaction errors.
  • Perform and oversee accurate ERP, MRP, and WMS transactions, including material issues, transfers, adjustments, and inventory movements.
  • Maintain material traceability through barcode scanning, labeling, lot control, and serial number tracking.
  • Partner with Production, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and Supply Chain teams to resolve material-related issues.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop kitting and materials personnel.
  • Develop and improve SOPs, work instructions, workflows, and inventory control procedures.
  • Track KPIs such as inventory accuracy, kitting productivity, kit completion, material shortages, and on-time kit delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to improve material flow, warehouse organization, system utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Support ERP/WMS implementations, upgrades, testing, training, and process improvements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, materials, inventory control, logistics, kitting, or manufacturing support.
  • At least 1–2 years of supervisory or team lead experience.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP, MRP, or WMS systems such as SAP, M3, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and material traceability.
  • Ability to read and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs), work orders, engineering drawings, wire lists, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience using barcode scanners, inventory tracking systems, or warehouse technology.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
