Job summary

DIG INN Restaurant Teams is seeking a Chef-in-Training in New York. Earn $17–$18 per hour plus $2–$3 per hour in tips and additional benefits in a fast-paced, scratch-based kitchen.

You will learn culinary skills, develop leadership abilities, and contribute to our mission to rebuild the food system. You will rotate across stations, work with real ingredients, and engage with guests to share menu details and seasonality while upholding safety and DIG policies.

Qualifications

• A passion for real, good food and a desire to learn culinary practices and skills.
• Ability to demonstrate and execute a strong work ethic.
• Ability to perform physical requirements (lifting up to 25–50 pounds).

Responsibilities

• Prep, mix, and cook vegetables, proteins, grains etc using recipes and taste to validate.
• Gain exposure to multiple kitchen stations (garde manger, grill, roast, market line, etc).
• Discuss menu offerings, seasonality, and ingredients with guests to provide scratch-made meals.
• Support the team during peak and off-peak service as needed.
• Demonstrate professional maturity and uphold anti-discrimination policies.
