Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation in Tempe Mission Palms Hotel is seeking a Kitchen/Culinary Supervisor. This role oversees a team of hourly cooks within a bustling hotel kitchen and requires a basic understanding of kitchen operations, cost control, and leadership.

The position is full-time and based in Tempe, AZ, with an emphasis on timely, high-quality guest service. The role supports training and department coverage in the absence of the Sous Chef, and requires flexible scheduling including weekends

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of a kitchen operation
• Skills and knowledge to include culinary education, basic cost control understanding, basic communication, leadership skills and computer skills.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment.
• Refined verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that will likely include, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Basic understanding of a kitchen operation within the hotel.
• Responsible for producing a consistent, quality product that meets and exceeds the guests' needs in a timely manner.
• Capable of assuming department responsibilities in the absence of the Sous Chef.
• Supervising hourly cooks.
• May assist in monitoring payroll costs & overtime.
