Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Kitchen Steward/Dishwasher to maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen. The role involves dishwashing, set-up, inventory help, and coordination with other departments to ensure smooth service.

Responsibilities include operating dish machines, sanitizing equipment, assisting with banquet service, and maintaining safety and cleanliness standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Ability to carry or lift items up to 75 pounds.
• Stand and move about in kitchen or assigned areas.
• Handle, move, and use cleaning supplies and utensils.
• Read chemical or machine labels; follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize plateware, silverware, glassware, pots & pans, and kitchen area.
• Set up workstation, fill dish machine, check chemicals, and gather setup equipment.
• Promote teamwork and communicate with Catering, Banquets, Outlets, Maintenance.
• Check equipment condition and report hazards or security issues.
• Clean equipment like hoods, filters, tables, carts, ovens, and sinks.
• Empty and haul trash to dump sites; follow recycling rules.
• Deliver food to banquet events on all floors.
• Organize and separate silverware, glassware, and kitchenware.
• Monitor pot sink setup according to health procedures.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors after meals and spills.
• Monitor chemicals and water temperature; keep area clean and safe.
• Assist in inventory counting china, glass, and silver.
• Keep all dishware clean and properly stocked.
• Maintain pars in each kitchen.
• Wash dishes and store items properly.
• Polish copper and silver pans when needed.
• Familiarize with machines and detergents.
• Keep floors clean, dry, and safe.
• Unload kitchen produce and meats to walk-ins.
• Maintain walk-in cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as instructed by supervisors.
