Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Kitchen Steward for our Washington, DC property. You will clean all kitchen areas, cookware, cutlery, and utensils, while following OSHA regulations and maintaining a sanitary environment. Responsibilities include ware washing, hand washing, equipment maintenance, and floor care.

Flexible shifts, weekends and holidays may be required. The role requires some high school education with at least 1 year of related experience preferred, and adherence to

Qualifications

• High school completion preferred and related experience is valued.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and maintain hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean entire kitchen area, cook ware, plates, glassware, silverware and cutlery.
• Use correct cleaning chemicals per OSHA regulations.
• Set up and organize station; report shortages to supervisor.
• Clean kitchen including carts, walk-ins, and loading dock area.
• Operate and maintain dishwashing equipment properly.
• Wash pots, pans, and equipment by hand when required.
• Perform daily kitchen maintenance.
• Polish silver and copper chafing dishes; burnish as needed.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floor to maintain sanitation.
