Job summary

Convene Hospitality Group is hiring a Back of House Service Technician to maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment, reporting to the Executive Chef. You will work in a team-focused environment focused on sanitation, safety, and customer service.

The role requires attention to detail, customer-oriented service, and physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Previous experience preferred.
• Flexible and long hours are sometimes required.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.

Responsibilities

• Care and cleaning of kitchen equipment, dish room and pot washing areas.
• Operate and maintain dish room equipment according to sanitary standards.
• Clean up spills in the kitchen, dining area, his/her own work area immediately.
• Wash pots, pans, trays and other cooking and serving equipment.
• May wash and peel vegetables and fruits.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service as assigned.
• Maintain and refresh restrooms.
• Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
• Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or with the use of a hand truck.
• Remove trash, separate into designated containers, and maintain clean floors in the kitchen and dining area.
• Steam cleanse and/or scrub out trash and garbage cans.
• Complete shift work, as assigned, in a timely thorough manner in accordance with department standards.
• Inform chef and manager in a timely manner when supplies are low.
• Assist other functions as needed.
• Responsible for ensuring proper presentation, portion control, and maintenance of proper serving temperatures – follow HACCP standards.
• Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within the work area.
• Handle and ensure that all deliveries are properly stored, according to both state and federal health regulations.
• Represent the company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer and employee interactions.
• Greet customers courteously
• Relay relevant comments from customers directly to supervisors
• Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and service oriented manner
