Job summary

maman is a french bakery, café and leading lifestyle brand with locations across North America. The Porter role focuses on keeping the kitchen, café, and service areas clean and organized while supporting a fast-paced team.

Prior bakery/restaurant experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and adherence to procedures. We value teamwork and a sense of urgency to keep daily operations running smoothly, including early shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or bakery environment preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physical tasks (standing, lifting, bending).
• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Ability to follow instructions and safety procedures.
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends and holidays.
• A strong sense of urgency is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dishpit, café, restroom, and service areas, including bus bins, floors, surfaces, and equipment.
• Wash dishes, utensils, trays, and cookware promptly and thoroughly and replenish stock in the kitchen and on the floor as needed.
• Assist with trash and recycling removal in accordance with health and safety standards.
• Support Kitchen Leader and BOH staff with basic prep tasks as needed (e.g., carrying supplies, organizing storage,etc.)
• Receive, move, and properly store deliveries of food, beverages, and supplies.
• Ensure storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with food safety regulations.
• Restock supplies such as paper goods, cleaning materials, service items, etc.
• Assist with opening and closing cleaning duties.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and health & safety guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks and ad hoc projects as assigned to support daily operations.
