Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking an experienced kitchen leader to oversee all kitchen operations and supervise a team of cooks and staff. You will train staff, ensure quality and consistency of menu items, and uphold health, safety and sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment.

You will also recruit, onboard and develop team members, delegate tasks, and step in as line cook when needed. Weekend availability and comfort with POS systems are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive experience in food production environments or fast-paced dining settings.
• Experience in training and developing kitchen staff.
• Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations.
• Understand health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all kitchen operations and work with managers in training.
• Supervise and communicate performance expectations to kitchen staff.
• Foster a culture of quality and consistency for menu items.
• Provide training on prep work and food presentation techniques.
• Recruit, onboard and retain kitchen team members; motivate and coach.
• Delegate tasks and ensure accountability for kitchen operations.
• Guide kitchen staff to ensure proper execution of assigned tasks.
• Maintain compliance with health, fire safety regulations and company protocols.
• Emphasize safety, sanitation and security awareness in the team.
• Contribute to creating and enforcing kitchen policies; cover line cook duties when needed.
