Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to lead kitchen staff in a fast-paced production environment. You will support the Kitchen Manager, oversee training, and help control food costs while maintaining our quality standards.

Located in Eatontown, NJ, this role requires 3+ years in food service, flexibility for weekend shifts, and a solid understanding of health and safety regulations. The position offers growth opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a food production facility or fast-paced restaurant.
• Food Handler certification required by applicant.
• Organized and detail oriented.
• Experience in training and developing kitchen staff.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen.
• Flexibility to work closing shifts and weekends.
• Culinary school certification or Restaurant Management degree is a plus.
• Proficient with computer and POS software.
• Able to bend, reach overhead, stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff and communicate duties with the Kitchen Manager.
• Observe performance and provide coaching.
• Assist with recruitment, promotion, and personnel development.
• Help implement action plans to improve operations and costs.
• Collaborate to streamline operations and manage food costs.

• Implement and enforce kitchen policies and procedures.
• Conduct training sessions on prep techniques and presentation.
