Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to lead the kitchen team in daily operations, coach performance, assist with recruitment and development, and uphold quality and cost control. You will work closely with the Kitchen Manager to align menus with standards and drive efficiency.

You will train staff, ensure health & safety compliance, and embody the brand's values in a fast-paced, growing lifestyle company that values teamwork and excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a food production facility or fast-paced restaurant
• Local Food Handler certification or equivalent
• Organized and detail oriented
• Experience in training kitchen staff
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Flexible to work closing shifts and weekends
• Culinary school certification or Restaurant Management degree is a plus
• Proficient with standard office and POS software
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff and relay duties with the Kitchen Manager
• Observe and coach performance of kitchen personnel
• Assist Kitchen Manager with recruitment, selection, and development of staff
• Help implement action plans to improve operations and costs
• Collaborate to streamline operations and ensure quality standards
• Provide product feedback and merchandise recommendations
• Ensure new menus and changes meet quality standards
• Assist in enforcing kitchen policies and procedures across shifts
• Facilitate training on prep techniques and presentation standards
• Model company values to foster teamwork and a positive environment
• Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations
