Job summary

HomeGrown Kitchen is seeking a hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead a busy casual dining kitchen in Des Moines. You will recruit, train, and mentor a team, ensuring quick, friendly guest service and top-quality food.

You'll oversee daily kitchen operations, maintain safety and sanitation, control food costs, and coordinate with the Hospitality Manager and General Manager to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Able to guide, direct, and motivate staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of kitchen operations.
• Recruit, select, train, and develop kitchen staff.
• Foster team cohesiveness and positive working environment.
• Provide friendly and efficient guest service with the hosp. team.
• Oversee opening and closing activities.
• Ensure cleanliness and sanitation, along with health and safety standards.
• Oversee all site operations as needed.
• Schedule staff hours and manage labor costs.
