Job summary

Kj’s Market in Ebenezer, SC, is seeking a Bluebird Kitchen Manager to oversee the Bluebird Kitchen/Deli/Bakery department, guest experience, menu execution, and team development. You will train and coach hosts and assistants, ensure sanitation and food safety, collaborate with store teams to drive efficiency, and manage labor and inventory to meet budgets.

This role requires leadership, strong communication, and a commitment to our standards and brand.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Knowledge of kitchen, deli, and bakery operations.
• Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Store Manager and Merchandiser.
• Ability to work well with computers.
• Food Safety Manager Certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure sanitation and food safety standards are maintained.
• Train, coach, develop, and provide feedback to Bluebird Kitchen/Deli/Bakery department hosts.
• Train, coach, develop, and provide feedback to Assistant Manager roles within the department.
• Ensure hosts provide guests with the desired level of service.
• Collaborate with department managers to drive efficiency, reduce costs and increase gross profit.
• Ensure department financials align with the budget and meet guest needs.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink, and profits for the department.
• Monitor and manage inventory to ensure food quality and supply levels.
• Execute merchandising programs and weekly sales plans for the department.
• Ensure product quality meets standards.
• Perform brand rituals and guest experiences.
• Handle product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service.
• Create department schedules to meet business needs and labor budgets.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
