Big Rapids Lumber & Hardware is seeking a Kitchen & Bath Design Consultant to serve customers with value, form, and function in a sales-focused role. The position involves meeting walk-in and phone-in customers, and visiting job sites as needed.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, promoting showroom benefits, scheduling appointments, and acting as liaison among plumbers, builders, and homeowners. Strong sales and product knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High school degree required; college degree preferred.
• Experience in the building industry is a strong plus.
• Retail or sales experience is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of kitchen and bath design products is required.
• Energetic, forward-thinking with high ethical standards.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers visiting the office/showroom.
• Promote showroom benefits to builders, contractors, and designers.
• Schedule showroom appointments with homeowners and referrals.
• Act as project liaison between plumber, builder, and homeowner.
• Sell features and benefits of decorative design and plumbing to homeowners.
• Build and maintain market share in the area.
• Write up orders from walk-in and phone-in customers.
• Answer phones and emails; provide pricing, product, and delivery info.
• Assist customers with pricing and delivery status information.
• Engage in customers’ projects by asking qualifying questions and following up on quotes.
