Big Rapids Lumber & Hardware is seeking a Kitchen & Bath Design Consultant to serve customers in our Big Rapids, MI showroom and on job sites. This inside/outside sales role focuses on delivering value, form and function while providing exceptional customer service.

You will meet walk-in and phone-in customers, visit jobsites as needed, promote showroom benefits to builders and designers, and collaborate with homeowners throughout project life cycles.

Qualifications

• High School diploma minimum; college degree preferred.
• Experience in the building industry is a strong plus.
• Retail or sales experience is a strong plus.
• Working knowledge of kitchen and bath design products is required.

Responsabilités

• Greet customers visiting the showroom.
• Promote showroom benefits to area builders and designers.
• Schedule showroom appointments with homeowners and referrals.
• Act as project liaison between plumber, builder and homeowner.
• Selling features and benefits of design and plumbing products.
• Build and maintain market share in the area.
• Write up walk-in and phone-in customer orders.
• Answer phone calls and emails; assist with pricing and delivery status.
• Engage in customers' projects; qualify needs and follow up quotes.
• Maintain cooperative resource to customers and fellow employees.
• Pricing responsibility on special orders with gross margin accountability.
• Use MS Office, Epicor, 20/20 and vendor programs.

Kitchen & Bath Design Consultant(Inside/Outside Sales)

Location: Big Rapids Lumber & Hardware – Big Rapids MI

Summary

Responsible for serving BRL&H customers in an engaging way. Our purpose is to provide our existing and new customers with value, form and function building and design products. We provide our customers with the best customer service in the industry. This is a sales positions and it will include meeting with walk-in customers, talking with phone-in customers, and job-site visits as needed. You will participate and contribute to company goals and our strategic plan.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Greeting customers as they visit our office/showroom
• Promoting the showroom benefits to area builders, contractors and interior designers.
• Scheduling showroom appointments with homeowners and referrals from builders.
• Act as project liaison between plumber, builder and homeowner when needed
• Selling features and benefits of decorative design and plumbing to homeowners
• Building and maintaining company market share in the area
• Writing up walk-in and phone-in customers’ orders
• Answering phone calls and emails
• Assisting customers with pricing, product and delivery status information
• Engaging in customers’ projects
  • Asking questions to qualify customer needs
  • Returning project quotes in a timely manner
  • Following up on possible orders and sales opportunities
• Continual responsibility of being a cooperative resource to customers and fellow employees
• Pricing responsibility on special order products along with gross margin accountability
  • Working knowledge and everyday use of technology including but not limited to email, phones, internet, MS Office products, Epicor, 20/20 and various vendor programs.

Position Opportunity

Status: Full and part-time positions available

Hours: Facility is open M-F 8:00-5:30, Sat 8:00-2:00

Compensation: $15-$20 an hour plus commission %
