Job summary

Michaels is hiring for an event coordination and customer experience role at our DET-CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP store in Michigan. You will plan and run events, including children’s birthday parties, while assisting customers and guiding them through purchases.

You’ll manage party add-ons, communicate with clients and team members, and support store operations from setup to cleanup. You’ll engage guests of all ages, demonstrate crafts, and ensure safety and cleanliness while promoting Michaels’ brand

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and children’s events.
• Good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Organizational and interpersonal skills with creative problem-solving.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Assist customers with shopping and checkout and enroll in Rewards/Private Label Credit Cards.
• Support omni-channel processes like BOPIS and Ship From Store.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards and perform recovery tasks.
