Job summary

Michaels Stores in Holland, MI is seeking an enthusiastic Event Coordinator to plan and coordinate kids parties and craft events inside the store. You will engage customers, help them shop, and deliver a fast, friendly checkout experience while upholding store standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating multiple events, guiding participants through crafts, managing add-ons, and communicating with clients and team members. Previous retail or service experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have experience working with children and children's events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Must have organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects and activities.
• Facilitate add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Complete administrative tasks such as emails and phone calls.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs.
• Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
