Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Bloomington, MN is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and coordinate in-store events, including children’s birthday parties and classes. You will engage clients of all ages, guide craft activities, and upsell add-ons while ensuring a safe, fun shopping environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating multiple events, assisting with checkout and store tasks, and communicating effectively with clients and team members.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Must have good communication skills including written, verbal, and nonverbal communication as well as listening skills.
• Retail and/or customer service experience required.
• Must have organizational and interpersonal skills and creative problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children’s parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages and ensure a fun, engaging store experience.
• Demonstrate and guide participants through craft activities, and assist with add-ons (balloons, goody bags) where appropriate.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety, handle setup and teardown of events, and support omni-channel processes as needed.
