Job summary

Family Dollar in Merrillville, IN is seeking a part-time Store Associate to deliver exceptional customer service, assist with merchandise and transactions, and support daily store operations. You will help stock and stockroom transfers, maintain a clean, welcoming store, and contribute to a positive customer experience.

The role requires a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays, with the ability to lift up to 40–55 lbs and work with the POS system. Prior retail experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (often up to 55 lbs).
• Experience in retail, grocery or drug store environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with merchandise selection and location.
• Process sales transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Assist in unloading deliveries and stocking shelves.
• Support Store Manager with daily activities and operational tasks.
• Maintain store cleanliness and positive image with customers and community.
• Provide excellent customer service and handle customer inquiries.
