Job summary

Family Dollar in Gary, IN is seeking a part-time store associate to deliver exceptional customer service, help customers find merchandise, and efficiently process sales. You will assist with inventory, deliveries, and store upkeep while supporting the store team and leadership.

The role requires flexibility for days, evenings, weekends and holidays, with physical duties including lifting up to 40 lbs. Prior retail experience is preferred; high school completion is favored.

Qualifications

• Education: Prefer completion of high school or equivalent.
• Experience: Prefer management experience in retail, grocery or drug store environments

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with merchandise selection and locating items.
• Process transactions accurately using the POS system and handle funds.
• Assist in stocking shelves and organizing merchandise from delivery to store floor.
• Maintain store cleanliness and ensure overall appearance and safety.
• Support opening/closing duties and daily store operations in absence of leadership.
