Job summary

1-800-FLOWERS.COM, INC is seeking a Key Holder to manage customer interactions, showcase products, and guide shoppers through the purchasing process. The role includes leading the team during shifts in the absence of managers and ensuring smooth store operations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining excellent customer service and adherence to store policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for 8 hours at a time.
• Lift at least 25 lbs.
• Adhere to Uniform Policy and Attendance Policy and enforce these policies with coworkers.
• Comfortable being in and running the store solo on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Greeting and interacting with customers.
• Showcasing products and teaching visitors how to shop the store by guiding them through the buying process.
• Ask open-ended questions to learn customer needs.
• Provide correct, helpful, and instant product knowledge to make the shopping experience memorable.
• Go above and beyond service expectations during every interaction.
• Assist customers with adding gifts or take-home purchases using suggestive selling.
• Thank customers for their purchase regardless of size.
• Take orders accurately in person and over the phone, including Large Client Orders.
• Lead the team in the absence of managers, run shifts, delegate tasks, and prep the store for the next shift.
• Handle cash, count down, and balance drawers at opening/closing; address customer issues on the spot.

• Thanking the customer for their purchase no matter how small
• Taking orders correctly & completely in person & over the phone, including Large Client Orders.
• Leading your team in the absence of managers which includes: running the shift, delegating duties, & preparing the store for the next shift.
• Cash handling, counting down, and balancing the cash drawers at close &/or open. Taking care of customer issues and troubleshooting issues on the spot.
