Description

As Key Account Manager (KAM) at Zak Designs, your strategic vision will energize our teams and amplify our customers' success. This role goes beyond traditional sales - it's about creating an impactful customer strategy, leading negotiations, and pioneering innovations that drive growth. Here, leadership means more than just managing; it's about inspiring and innovating - taking every opportunity to elevate our work and drive mutual growth with our largest national customer. This KAM will be a part of the local Bentonville, AR team, reporting directly to the VP of Sales – Walmart & Sam’s Club. They will play a critical role in the success of Zak Designs Hydration Business at Walmart & Sam’s Club.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain existing business relationships, focusing on business growth year over year.
  2. Gain a deep understanding of customer needs and priorities within various categories.
  3. Develop sales/account plans to meet customer objectives while operating within Zak Designs' initiatives and guidelines.
  4. Maintain and build offline planning to understand event ROI, net sales, and profitability.
  5. Assist in building iterations (seasonal/POG) of customer-specific category planograms.
  6. Manage the customer P&L (where applicable) and set clear financial targets to hit for the customer/categories.
  7. Market visits and regular store walks must be completed to ensure retail execution and excellence on the shelf.
  8. Maintain communication with internal supply chain/customer solutions stakeholders and customer supply chain contacts.
  9. Continuous communication of customer needs to internal stakeholders and collaboration with customers and internal teams on joint business plans.
  10. Take the initiative and pursue opportunities to gain distribution on new products and improve product exposure.
  11. Work closely with the Sales Analyst to collect NPD and customer-based data; run correlation analysis to better understand which levers drive growth and identify opportunities.
  12. Preparation for scheduled customer business reviews.
  13. Provide key inputs for forecasting and analytics teams – own the sales trend!
Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business management, communication, or related field.
  2. Three (3) to five (5) years of direct Walmart experience; industry and product-specific experience a plus.
  3. Well-developed interpersonal/communication skills and the ability to build relationships to drive results.
  4. Proven ability to analyze and translate complex data into clear, actionable business strategies.
  5. Strong presentation and communication skills with planning and implementation abilities.
  6. Demonstrates problem-solving skills and working under tight timelines, multi-tasking abilities.
  7. Ability to balance priorities across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficient with all Walmart-specific systems.
  9. This position requires the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
