What You’ll Do

We are seeking a Key Account Director to join our growing Life Sciences team. This role focuses on creating and expanding our global client relationships with leading biopharmaceutical organizations.

The Key Account Director will drive sales of Tempus RWD, AI, sequencing, and clinical trial solutions to major biopharma accounts, aiming to accelerate research, clinical, and commercial programs. Tempus services are used by over 200 Biopharmas, including 18 of the top 20, to support drug development. The role involves working cross-functionally to position Tempus as the trusted partner in precision medicine.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and close new sales opportunities within designated biopharma accounts.
  • Achieve and exceed bookings goals while meeting strategic objectives.
  • Understand each account's needs and develop tailored strategies.
  • Develop global account strategies in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Build and maintain executive relationships, engaging senior leadership.
  • Become an expert on the partner’s strategy and leverage the Tempus platform accordingly.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with clients.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver value to customers.
  • Partner with clients to develop case studies showcasing platform impact.
  • Provide feedback to leadership for portfolio development.
  • Monitor progress against goals and review regularly.
  • Travel approximately 40% domestically and internationally.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10+ years in Business Development and Sales within Life Sciences, managing key accounts (Pharma/Biotech).
  • 5+ years working with companies servicing R&D and/or Real World Data in Life Sciences.
  • Proven sales success within Biopharma accounts.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, thriving in a fast-growing environment.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Deep understanding of drug development and industry relationships.
  • Ability to navigate complex client organizations successfully.
  • Excellent account management and strategic selling skills.
  • Track record as a trusted advisor to clients.
  • Experience closing large, multi-year deals.
  • Knowledge of molecular data and AI in drug discovery.
  • Bachelor’s in Science or Business; advanced degrees preferred.
Salary ranges from $160,000 to $210,000, depending on location and experience. Tempus offers comprehensive benefits, including potential incentives and stock options. Remote roles are considered, with specific considerations regarding background checks in Los Angeles.
